SECOND BASE
Stillness. Being “in the moment.”
Feeling, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting.
These words can all be associated with experiencing the present moment.
“Spark Moments”
The spark is a personal, individual experience that can occur at specific times in our lives. Usually, we associate our “spark moments” with a particular place or activity. You know the feeling you get when you hear a certain song and you immediately think of a specific time or place from the past? Exactly. But have you ever stood alone or alongside your family on a mountaintop in the Swiss Alps, with nothing else but the sound of the breeze and the slow clanging of cowbells?
Sometimes “spark moments” occur while viewing a specific work of art. For artists over the centuries, their aim has been to recreate in their art that breathtaking, moving feeling–to generate that spark within the observer. Today, we see artists in many forms–whether they be painters, musicians, winemakers, writers, chefs, sculptors, or athletes–focused on creating “spark moments” for themselves and, fortunately, for us.
At Life Around The Bases, we craft your itinerary so that space is created for you to experience “spark moments”–to encourage you to slow down a bit and be present in your experience of history, a meal, a concert, a vast landscape, and other forms of art. Perhaps you’ll be so inspired that you’re moved to make art of your own. Best of all, we allow you to return home with a sense of self-growth–a sense of appreciation for the world and your particular place in it. In short, you return home a better version of yourself.
Your time is your life.
It should not be squandered.
Invest in it. It’s your most valuable asset.
